CHAOS was born from a shared passion for the ocean. We are a crew of eight friends —divers, runners, and surfers — united by a love for sailing and a 20-month journey that begins and ends on the West Coast of the United States.

Our vessel, SY Chaos, is a 1998 Swan 56 built by Nautor Swan in Finland. These yachts are respected globally for their reliability and craftsmanship, serving as true dual-purpose vessels refined enough for comfortable offshore cruising, yet engineered with the pedigree of a world-class racer. As Chaos' fourth owner, we are proud to carry on the legacy of a boat that earned multiple titles under previous caretakers.

We chose the name Chaos as a nod to Chaos Theory —the idea that a single ripple in the Atlantic can eventually become a storm in the Pacific. It’s a reminder of how small moments lead to grand adventures, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to see the world from the deck of such a capable boat.
